Part of their adventures included finaggling the kiddy basketball hoop so that it could be mounted to our posts in the backyard. Once this happened, Ryan couldn't get enough of playing basketball...he was now like the big kids in our court - - - and he was in heaven.
The only "bad" thing was that the ball that came with the basketball hoop wasn't a real basketball and the other basketball that we had was a hand-me-down from the twins...and it was warped to begin with. It wouldn't hold air...it was flat....and it was lopsided.
So Daddy took Ryan out one day and got a basketball for him. It was a complete surprise - Ryan had no idea that's why he and Daddy were going shopping. Ryan was SO excited about his new basketball that they had to go outside into the backyard to play hoops with it. Mind you it was just about 9:00 in the evening...Ryan should have been in bed...and it was dark. But Daddy and Ryan shot a few hoops before it was time to hit the hay.
Ryan was so excited that he slept with his new ball. When I went in to check on him before I went to bed, he had his arm around it.
Here are a few pics from the next morning....I also have a video but not enough time to upload it yet.
Oh - and yes - that's a new bandaid on his scar. He slipped in the shower last week and re-split his head open. Luckily he didn't need stitches again but they did use the super-glue stitches stuff. Ugh - that was an awful day!
