Ryan has been SO incredibly excited for Halloween - it couldn't come soon enough. Between getting to be Peter Pan...the thought of going trick or treating....being out at night...and getting all that candy was really almost too much to bear.
Every day for the last month, we would move the marker on the advent calendar and count down the days until it was trick or treat day. (Was also a great learning tool for numbers and for learning about months/days/weeks - but that's another post).
The pumpkins were carved...the costume was clean...and now all we had to do was wait until it got dark. Which meant some play time outside....and some chill time for Natalie and I on the blanket out front. Daddy worked on the bushes....Ryan rode his bike and helped Daddy....and Natalie worked on being cute. ;)
We went trick or treating with the neighborhood kids....although I didn't get pictures of them like I have in year's past. With trying to get Ryan and all his components, dressing Natalie, and getting me dressed...we were running a bit late. :(
Ryan really had a ball! He wasn't nervous or afraid at all. We all started out together but after about 4 houses, Natalie was "done". Her bedtime is 7:00 and she had to be woken up to get dressed to go out. So Daddy took Ryan out - they hit just about every house in our neighborhood. When they finally made it back, Ryan wasn't even interested in checking out all his loot. He got on his jammies, brushed his teeth and was out probably before I could get down the stairs.
Natalie stayed up until Ryan went to bed too. Even though she wasn't happy riding in her stroller, she was more than happy to chill outside in her jammies drinking milk! There was just too much going on for her to sleep!
